Please follow the rules and signs to ensure the safety of our children. If the school has not been notified of a particular absence, we will contact you to verify and confirm the absence.<\/p><p><strong>Delays<\/strong><\/p><p>Any student who arrives after 8:45 a.m. or after 1:10 p.m. must go to the office to obtain an admission pass.<\/p><p><strong>Schoolyard: Arrival and Departure<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>There is no supervision in the courtyard before 8:30 a.m. or before 12:55 p.m. after lunch.<\/li><li>After arriving, students must remain in the schoolyard.<\/li><li>In rainy or extremely cold weather, avoid sending your child out too early.<\/li><li>After 3:10 p.m., students must go home.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-3202\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-3202\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">School attendance<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-3202\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-3202\"><p><strong><u>Compulsory schooling<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0Pupils who have reached the age of 6 must attend school until the age of 18, or until they graduate. Under the compulsory schooling rule, pupils are admitted to 1<sup>re<\/sup>\u00a0year in September of any school year, provided they have reached the age of six (6) by December 31 of the same calendar year. If a person under the age of compulsory schooling is enrolled in an elementary school, the present applies during the period for which he or she is enrolled, as if he or she had reached the age of compulsory schooling.<\/p><p><strong><u>School staff responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>The school maintains a daily register of all students' absences and reasons for absence through Aspen. According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/csdcab.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/b009-p_frequentation_scolaire_220625.pdf\"><em>B009-P School attendance<\/em><\/a>For each absence, there is communication between the school and the home. Where applicable, original supporting documentation from the doctor must be retained for two years in the student's Ontario Student Record (OSR). On a regular basis, the principal or designate reviews student attendance data in Aspen. Together with school staff, the principal takes a critical look at each student to identify those at risk. Once recurrent absences have been identified, the next steps are documented using the\u00a0<em>B009-F1 Managing absences or late arrivals\u00a0<\/em>and stored in the student's DSO.<\/p><p><strong><u>Prolonged absences<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>If you anticipate that your child will be absent for an extended period of time (e.g., travel, family emergencies, medical absences), you must inform the school so that the administration can offer a school exemption.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong><u>Frequent absences or lateness : <\/u><\/strong><\/p><p>Follow-ups will be carried out according to the number of absences, in compliance with Board policy and school procedures.\u00a0<\/p><p>From 5 to 10 days of late arrivals or accumulated absences, we can trigger the process set out in the policy, which may include :<\/p><ol><li>an initial communication from the school,<\/li><li>a phone call from management,<\/li><li>a meeting between parents and the school.<\/li><\/ol><p>If concern persists, the attendance advisor can get involved.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-74ac0db elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"74ac0db\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-ed7d5b8\" data-id=\"ed7d5b8\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ac9a4b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ac9a4b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Allergies and medical needs<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f4f118c elementor-widget elementor-widget-accordion\" data-id=\"f4f118c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"accordion.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-2561\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2561\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Allergies<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2561\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2561\"><p>Please take note of the allergies and dangerous foods that can cause anaphylactic shock.
